This is Armalite’s very effective recoil brake. Recoil in a .223? Yes, enough not to hurt the shooter’s shoulder but enough to cause the scope to be pulled off the target. Using this rifles five power scope the rifle stays on a 12” square ‘Beast’ rifle gong target hung at 100 yards between shots. I am able to see each bullet impact though the scope and can ring the gong as fast as I can pull the trigger. Using a rifle without a brake the muzzle flips upwards between each shot and I have to require the target between each shot.
