Recoil Guide

Outside of change out the wooden stock and adding the scope and mount the only other change I’ve done to this rifle is to change out the stock recoil guide with one from Brookfield Precision Tool that was purchased from Fulton Armory. The stock guide was a flat piece of steel that allows for the spring to bear up against it in odd ways - the old square peg in a round hole concept. The BPT guide is round allowing a consistent contact with the spring.

Also note the single set of lugs protruding down from the bottom of the receiver. Match rifles will often have a second set to allow a firmer purchase into a glass bedded stock.
