After five months without true liberty the USS Lincoln pulled into Freemantle Australia located in the south west corner of Australia just south of Perth. Freemantle is a port city that has done a great job preserving some of it’s history. The downtown area in particular has gone to great lengths to maintain an 1870’s to 1900’s charm.

I managed to spend the better part of three days off learning how to walk on dry land, eat real food and to enjoy a good Victorian Bitter beer. I was stationed in Australia for a couple of years up north in Exmouth.
